  27. This is the readme file for Oangband 0.5.0 (October 3, 2000)

  29.      Oangband is a variant of Angband, created to experiment with
  30. changes in melee algorithms, spells, items, monsters, a substantial
  31. reduction in both HPs and damage, and whatever else might both catch
  32. Leon Marrick's fancy and be practicable for him to code.
  33. Appropriately, it is called Opinion-Angband, or Oangband for short.

  35.      On-line help exists for all significant changes made, so make
  36. certain you have a look through at least some of the new help
  37. documents available through the "?" command.  In addition, the file
  38. containing the complete list of changes from version 0.4.1 to 0.5.0
  39. can be found in the lib/files directory.

  41.      Oangband is based on Angband 2.8.3.  I hope you will join me in a
  42. paean of praise to Ben Harrison, whose excellent code has made so many
  43. variants of Angband possible.

  45.      Oangband 0.5.0 adapts a large amount of code from Angband
  46. 2.8.5-2.9.1
